Weekly payment stores exist to help those that do not have the ability to buy a consumer product outright. Coupled with this these people may also have problems with their credit score due to failing to pay loans back in the past or picking up a county court judgement.
Weekly pay stores can really help
In such
scenarios, the last thing they want is to have to go through a credit check.
Thankfully many weekly payment stores such as Brighthouse do not carry out a credit check using credit reference agencies. Instead they use a status check which only checks such things as proof of permanent employment as well as an ID check such as a passport or driving license.

Its a shame that there are not more weekly payment stores on the high street in the UK. The only one I can think of is Brighthouse. Then of course you have places like Argos that expect you to pay for your purchase all in one go.
I do sympathize with some of these people that are unable to purchase essential consumer products on an outright basis. Not everyone has a lump of cash sitting in the bank. There are alot of working class families that need tyo buy essential items like washing machines or cookers and the only option open to them is to buy them on a weekly basis.
